Nature of position:

Temporary Part Time

Temporary Part-Time: 8 hrs. per wk Monday & Thursday 10:30am – 2:30pm January 6, 2022, through to March 31, 2022. There is a possibility of an extension.

Rate of pay:

Grid Level 10 with ECE; Grid Level 6 with ECEA

Requirements:

Must be an early Childhood Educator with current BC License to practice as an early Childhood Educator. Three years’ experience working in an inclusive childcare setting. Preference may be given to an Early Childhood Education Special Educator with current BC License to practice as an Early Childhood Education Special Educator. Will consider applicants with ECE-A (Assistant) certification. Current Criminal Record Checks, physician approval, TB test results, First Aid and CPR required as per Association policy.

Qualifications / Knowledge / Skills:

Ability to collaborate and work effectively as a member of an inter-professional team. Strong oral communication, organizational, and documentation skills. Ability to provide a calm, healthy, responsive relationship with the child and to establish and maintain supportive, collaborative relationships with families and childcare setting staff. Able to work independently and efficiently with minimum supervision. Ability to maintain confidentiality and maintain a positive, professional, non-judgmental attitude. Must be physically fit, willing, and able to meet all physical demands of the job. Preference will be given to ECE.
