Position: Supported Child Support Program Manager
Nature of position:
Permanent Full time
35 hrs per week; Monday through Friday approximately 8:30am-4pm
Rate of pay: Paraprofessional Grid Level 15
Location: Supported Child Development Program (SCDP)
Bachelor’s degree in early childhood development or a related field (eg. child and youth care, psychology, social work, education), or a Certificate in Infant Development and Supported Child Development (UBC). Three years’ experience in program administration, coordination and supervision in the social services sector. Preferred qualifications include a demonstrated and in-depth working knowledge of Supported Child Development, child care, early intervention programs and services, and applicable legislation and policies.
Qualifications / Knowledge / Skills:
Strong oral and written communication and organizational skills. Excellent presentation, facilitation and interpersonal skills. Computer literacy to include the ability to maintain a data base and provide statistical reports. Ability to work within a specified budget and utilize excellent program management and decision making skills. Ability to lead and participate in a productive and interactive team. Strong conflict resolution skills, demonstrating the ability to deal effectively with, and remain calm in stressful situations, while ensuring everyone is treated with dignity and respect. To work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision. Ability to problem solve. Demonstrated ability to use a cultural safety framework when working with Aboriginal children, families and communities.
Union Status: Community Living Services Collective Agreement
Own Vehicle Requirements: Must have access to a reliable vehicle and maintain a valid Class 5 Driver's License, with business insurance, plus $2,000,000 third party liability.
