Position: Community Support Worker
Nature of position:
8 hours per week, 1:1 community inclusion support
Rate of pay: Grid Level 10
Location: Confidence in Community (formerly 1:1 contracts)
Current First Aid and CPR, negative TB test results, current Criminal Record Check as per Association policy, and a completed Physicians Approval of Health. Food Safe Certification and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention also required.
Qualifications / Knowledge / Skills:
Human Services Worker Certification or certification in a relevant field preferred. Three to six month prior job experience (paid or volunteer), working with people with developmental disabilities. Must display a proven ability to calmly and effectively work with individuals with complex support needs and behaviors. Must be willing to support client in a variety of community venues, including the swimming pool, Sportsplex, restaurants, pubs and bars, etc. Must be physically able and willing to go for long walks, use exercise equipment at the gym and any other physical activities as required. Must have demonstrated skills in role modelling appropriate social behavior in a variety of settings
