Community Support Worker #1900

Nature of position:

Temporary Part Time
Temporary Part-Time: 24 hours per week, Tuesday – Friday 9am – 3pm. Vacation coverage from June 2, 2021 to August 31, 2021

Rate of pay:

Grid Level 10




Current first aid and CPR, negative TB test results, physician’s approval, current Criminal Record Check as per Association policy, valid Class 4 Driver’s license.

Qualifications / Knowledge / Skills:

Preference given to those with Human Service Worker Certification or equivalent. Specialized training in behavioral management and conflict resolution preferred. 3 - 6 months prior work experience (paid or volunteer) working with people with developmental disabilities. Must have good verbal and written communication skills. Must display enthusiasm and be physically capable of performing job duties. Must also be able to work independently as well as part of a team. Must have basic computer knowledge. Must possess the ability to assess a task and break it down into teachable components. Knowledge of teaching strategies and assessment techniques is required. Experience in marketing an asset. Ability to problem solve with participants and determine their needs and wants.
