Position: Community Support Worker #1899
Nature of position:
Temporary Part Time
Temporary Part-Time: 20hrs hours per week minimum, up to 30 hours per week, vacation coverage June 7, 2021 – September 6, 2021. Scheduled workdays will vary, primarily day time hours. Schedule will be posted as per article 15.5 of the collective agreement. See program supervisor for shift details.
Rate of pay: Grid Level 10
Location: Semi Independent Living (SIL)
Valid Class IV Driver's License, Business Insurance, current First Aid and CPR, negative TB test results, current Criminal Record Check as per Association policy, and a completed Physicians Approval of Health. Food Safe Certification and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention also required.
Qualifications / Knowledge / Skills:
Human Services Worker Certification or certification in a relevant field preferred. Three to six month prior job experience (paid or volunteer), working with people with developmental disabilities and a dual diagnosis. Preference given to those with previous experience working with people with a dual diagnosis and challenging behavior. Must be able to work with minimum supervision; exercise sound decision making in a crisis situation. Must display the initiative, enthusiasm, energy, and ability to be a contributing team member. Must be prepared to do housekeeping duties to include cooking, grocery shopping, and cleaning. Must be physically fit, willing and able to meet all physical demands of the job including swimming.
Union Status: Community Living Services Collective Agreement
Own Vehicle Requirements: Must have reliable transportation to transport clients in own vehicle. Business Insurance. SIL van may be available for some hours.
